Peru, IL — Meyers, Flowers, Bruno, McPhedran, & Hermann is pleased to announce that Carlton M. Fay has joined the firm as an Associate Attorney.
Rooted in a strong working-class upbringing, Carlton brings a grounded, tireless work ethic and strategic composure to every case. Known for his thorough preparation and deep commitment to client advocacy, he guides individuals and families through some of the most challenging moments of their lives while pursuing the justice and recovery they deserve.
Prior to joining Meyers, Flowers, Bruno, McPhedran, & Hermann, Carlton handled complex medical malpractice defense claims involving healthcare facilities. Managing complex civil litigation on the defense side has given him valuable insight into how corporate defendants and defense teams evaluate claims and approach litigation strategy. Carlton uses this perspective to dismantle defense tactics and advocate effectively on behalf of injured individuals.
Carlton built his courtroom foundation as a prosecutor with the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office. Managing a heavy courtroom docket, he gained extensive trial experience litigating over 100 bench trials, multiple jury trials to verdict, felony preliminary hearings, and appellate brief filings. His prosecution background honed his critical thinking, case management skills, and ability to evaluate liability under intense, high-pressure circumstances.
Carlton earned his Juris Doctor from Southern Illinois University School of Law, where he competed on the Mock Trial Team, served as a teaching assistant for 1L Criminal Law, and interned with the Jackson County State’s Attorney’s Office. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from Southern Illinois University – Carbondale. He is admitted to practice in Illinois and remains an active member of the legal community, including the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association.
