Which Tabletop Fire Pits Have Been Recalled?
Various brands have seen their tabletop fire pits recalled recently, including:
Colsen Fire Pits LLC
Approximately 89,500 Colson-branded fire pits manufactured by Colsen Fire Pits LLC, of Miami, Florida have been recalled because they can quickly and unexpectedly cause serious burns. The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) recall number for this product is 25-015.
These tabletop fire pits are gray or black and may be round, rectangular, square, hexagonal, or skull-shaped. All of these units were sold with a flame extinguisher bearing the “Colsen” brand. They were manufactured in various sizes from five to eighteen inches wide.
Five Below Tabletop Fire Pits
The CPSC recalled approximately 66,000 Five Below tabletop fire pits on September 18, 2025, due to the risk of serious burn injuries from flame jetting and fire hazards. The CPSC recall number for this product is 25-467. The recall covers two models: one with a smooth black base and one with a beveled gray base. Alcohol fuel can splash or leak from the reservoir during use, causing flash fires that spread beyond the unit.
The fire pits were sold in stores and online at fivebelow.com from April 2024 through August 2025 for between $2.50 and $5. Consumers should stop using the product immediately and contact Five Below for a full refund.
FLIKRFIRE Tabletop Fireplaces
FLIKRFIRE Tabletop Fireplaces have also been recalled. The CPSC warns that these fireplaces can cause uncontrollable pool fires and flame jetting that may result in serious or fatal burns. The recall number for this product is 25-073. These tabletop fire pits were manufactured in various sizes, colors, and shapes.
Kizzby Fire Pits
The Kizzby Fire Pit and the Kizzby Alcohol Burning Table Top Fire Pit Bowl fall under the CPSC’s broader consumer alert regarding alcohol and liquid-burning fire pits. FOIA records on the CPSC’s website reference multiple reports involving Kizzby products, including fires and explosions. If you own either of these products, the CPSC urges you to stop using them immediately and dispose of them.
Northlight Bio Ethanol Portable Tabletop Fireplaces
The CPSC issued a safety warning on May 7, 2026, urging consumers to immediately stop using Northlight Bio Ethanol Portable Tabletop Fireplaces. This CPSC product safety warning number is 26-473. The warning covers seven models with item numbers IF91990 through IF91997. These fireplaces require users to pour liquid fuel into an open container and ignite it in the same spot, which creates a serious risk of uncontrolled pool fires and flame jetting.
Gordon Companies Inc., the retailer, has not agreed to a recall. The products were sold online through major retailers, including Target, Walmart, Best Buy, and Home Depot, for $35 to $90.

Why Were Tabletop Fire Pits Recalled?
FLIKRFIRE tabletop fireplaces have contributed to at least two deaths and several incidents of third or fourth degree burns to extensive areas of victims’ bodies. The injuries were caused by flame jetting and uncontrollable pool fires which can produce hotter and larger flames that spread beyond the unit.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission has received at least 31 reports of flames escaping from the Colsen Tabletop fire pit container, which has resulted in 19 burn injuries. Two of those injuries resulted in the victims suffering third degree burns over more than 40% of their bodies. Six victims required surgery, treatment at burn facilities, loss of physical function, short-term disability, or permanent disfigurement.
The Arroyo and Hideaway Wood Burning Fire Pits were recalled as a fire hazard because the wood stored under the unit could ignite.
The CPSC warns that all alcohol or other liquid burning fire pits could be hazardous and that sellers should stop selling them and consumers should immediately stop using and dispose of them.
Flame Jetting and Pool Fire Hazards
Flame jetting and pool fires are the two primary dangers associated with alcohol-burning tabletop fire pits. Flame jetting occurs when a consumer attempts to refuel a fire pit while a small flame is still present inside the unit. Since alcohol flames can be nearly invisible, users may not realize the fire pit is still lit. When fuel is poured under those conditions, the vapor inside the container can ignite and cause an explosion that propels burning liquid onto the user and bystanders.
Pool fires, meanwhile, happen when ignited fuel inside the open reservoir produces flames that grow uncontrollably and spread to surrounding surfaces. Liquid fuels like isopropyl alcohol and ethanol can burn at temperatures exceeding 1,600°F and are capable of causing third-degree burn injuries in less than one second. The CPSC has published a safety video demonstrating the force of flame jetting and how far burning liquid can travel during one of these incidents.
