Meyers & Flowers is pleased to welcome Associate Attorney, Nicholas I. Flowers, to our growing firm. As a third-generation lawyer, Nick zealous advocacy and passion for the law comes naturally. Nick joined Meyers & Flowers as a student law clerk and transitioned to the role of attorney after his admission to the Illinois Bar this past November.
Driven by a genuine love for helping people, Nick transitioned from a corporate job to pursue a legal career that aligns with his values. He finds purpose in using his efforts to right wrongs and assist individuals, as opposed to contributing to the financial gains of corporations. Nick will concentrate his practice on matters of personal injury involving medical malpractice, motor accidents, defective devices, and harmful products.
Nick’s journey in law began with academic excellence, graduating magna cum laude from Loyola University Chicago School of Law. His outstanding achievements include earning the highest scores in Torts, Legal Writing, and Federal Income Tax, showcasing his dedication to mastering the intricacies of the legal field.
Since beginning his practice at the firm, Nick has taken on a range of cases including police misconduct, a handful of auto accidents, tragic medical malpractice claims, and product liability cases. Nick assisted a Meyers & Flowers trial team at the first trial in a series of personal injury lawsuits related to exploding cooking spray cans that secured a $7.1 million verdict for our client. “I have been very lucky to have been included on a wide range of cases which has help me gain a wide breadth of experience.” Said Nick.
Nick brings a unique perspective to his practice, backed by a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. When asked what specific practice areas he hopes to specialize in as his career progresses, Nick responded “With my background in engineering, I’ve always felt particularly interested in cases involving defective products. As a young lawyer, I think that these types of cases are the rare area where I have a lot of relevant experience and expertise that can be useful immediately.” With a foundation in both law and engineering, Nick hopes to provide comprehensive, strategic, and insightful legal representation, offering our clients a well-rounded approach to their cases.
Since joining the profession, Nick has participated in several professional associations, including the Chicago Bar Association, Kane County Bar Association, DuPage County Bar Association, the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, and Trial School – to name a few. He looks forward to furthering his involvement in the legal community, as he stated, “I would like to become more involved in both the Kane County and Cook County Bar Associations and hope to chair a committee in the near future.”
When not devoting his time and efforts to his clients, you can find Nick enjoying a variety of interests, including cooking, fishing, golfing, and reading non-fiction.
