Aurora, IL — June 2025 — Meyers & Flowers attorneys Michael W. Lenert and Christopher J. Warmbold have successfully secured a $3 million settlement on behalf of an elderly client who suffered serious injuries after being struck by a school bus while crossing a street. The resolution brings critical financial support to the client and his wife as they navigate life in the aftermath of the crash.
The incident occurred in September of 2023, when the driver of the school bus made a left turn and collided with the client, forcefully throwing him backward out of the crosswalk and into the roadway where his head and body slammed against the paved asphalt surface.
As a result of the collision, the client sustained multiple traumatic injuries, including a displaced fracture to his left leg and a concussion. He underwent surgery to repair his leg, requiring the placement of a tibial plate and multiple screws requiring an extended hospital stay, followed by rehabilitation and ongoing physical therapy.
