FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Chicago, IL – November 2025 –Trial Attorneys Peter J. Flowers and Thomas M. Connelly of Meyers & Flowers have filed a new lawsuit in Kane County on behalf of a patient and her family alleging they were secretly videotaped by chiropractor Dr. David H. Hanson during chiropractic and red-light therapy sessions at Hanson Family Chiropractic in Batavia, Illinois.
The complaint details deeply disturbing allegations that Dr. Hanson installed hidden recording devices disguised as fans inside exam and therapy rooms, capturing patients including women and children without their knowledge or consent.
According to the Batavia Police Department and Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office, Dr. Hanson has been charged following the discovery of secret recordings involving at least 180 patients. The recordings allegedly took place over an extended period within the clinic.
Meyers & Flowers currently represents more than 40 patients impacted by this egregious breach of trust and privacy and continues to file additional cases on behalf of others affected.
“The individuals we represent placed their trust in a medical professional who exploited his position in the most invasive and devastating way imaginable,” said Partner Peter J. Flowers of Meyers & Flowers.
The lawsuit seeks to hold Hanson Family Chiropractic liable for negligence, failure to protect patient privacy, and failure to supervise or control its employee, Dr. Hanson, as well as Dr. Hanson personally for intrusion upon seclusion.
“This case represents an extraordinary betrayal of patients who sought care in what should have been a safe and professional environment,” added Attorney Thomas M. Connelly of Meyers & Flowers. “Our clients deserve justice, and we will not stop until every responsible party is held to account.”
Meyers & Flowers encourages anyone who received treatment at Hanson Family Chiropractic to contact the firm for a confidential consultation to learn more about their legal rights.
