The phrase “work your way up” is often used, but few embody its meaning as fully as Lauren Edmunds. At just 19 years old, she began her career as an intern at Meyers & Flowers, and after a decade of unwavering determination and ambition, she has risen to the role of Associate Attorney.

Upon graduating with honors from Northern Illinois University College of Law, Lauren launched a successful career as a trial attorney at the very firm where she learned the personal injury litigation industry from the ground up. Today, she focuses her practice on personal injury, sexual abuse, and product liability while also leading the firm’s workers’ compensation department.

The daughter of a sheet metal worker, Lauren was proudly raised in a union home. After experiencing first-hand what a workplace injury can do financially to a family, she dedicated her career to protecting the rights of injured individuals. Advocacy for the underrepresented is the driving force behind her passion for justice.

Lauren is particularly passionate about representing survivors of sexual abuse—a cause that drives her work both inside and outside the courtroom. She understands the immense courage it takes for survivors to come forward and is committed to guiding them through the legal process with sensitivity and respect for their boundaries while also being mindful of the potential for re-traumatization. Whether taking on powerful institutions or holding perpetrators accountable, Lauren is known for her ability to litigate these deeply personal cases with both tenacity and compassion.

Today, Lauren represents survivors from all walks of life, including individuals who were sexually abused by clergy members as children, victims of rideshare driver assaults, and women harmed while seeking care at mental health facilities. She is currently leading litigation against Timberline Knolls, a treatment center for women and girls, for employing a serial perpetrator who sexually assaulted multiple patients. In addition to representing survivors of sexual trauma, Lauren’s experience encompasses representing individuals impacted by defective products and pharmaceutical drugs. She has played a critical role in litigating against major manufacturers of defective opioid medications, breast cancer chemotherapy drugs, pressure cookers, and cooking spray oil cans. Recently, she has devoted significant efforts to representing over 700 individuals affected by the opioid crisis, holding pharmaceutical companies accountable for the devastation they have caused in communities nationwide.

Lauren’s expertise extends to handling complex litigation trials. In one of her recent victories, she secured a $775,000 settlement for a fatal trucking accident—exceeding the available insurance policy limits by $275,000—after uncovering critical evidence that refuted the insurer’s initial denial of liability. Through relentless investigation and strategic litigation, she exposed the company’s negligence in maintaining its equipment and policies, ensuring justice for her client.
