peter j flowers inducted into the international society of barristers
Meyers & Flowers Partner, Peter J. Flowers, has been inducted into the International Society of Barristers. This exclusive legal society is made up of plaintiff and defense attorneys from across the U.S. and around the world.
“To be selected as a Fellow of the International Society of Barristers is both an honor and humbling,” said Peter J. Flower, partner at Meyers & Flowers. “This group is made up of some of the most respected minds in trial law who, like myself, are dedicated to upholding the highest standards of ethics and excellence in their pursuit of advocacy.”
According to the organization, the International Society of Barristers was created in 1965 and is dedicated to preserving trial by jury, the adversary system, and an independent judiciary. The goal of the organization is to bring together plaintiff and defendant attorneys in a nonpartisan atmosphere to discuss and advance the issues of ethics and distinction in advocacy and the larger role of litigation in society.
Fellows of the Society may not apply for membership; they must be elected by the Board of Governors’ Society after being nominated by an existing Fellow. A thorough vetting process is conducted to determine a nominee’s skill as a trial lawyer, as well as their professional and personal integrity. The Board of Governors’ pays careful attention to recommendations and feedback from the nominee’s peers and judges with whom they have worked and appeared before over the course of their trial career.
