Meyers & Flowers gives presentation
On July 6, 2013, unimaginable explosions and fires killed 47 people in Lac Megantic, Quebec, Canada after a train derailed and spilled millions of gallons of oil into the streets. Meyers & Flowers is honored and privileged to be prosecuting 39 separate wrongful death cases on behalf of families who lost their parents, spouses, children and siblings.
On October 8, 2013, trial attorney Craig Brown gave a presentation to the 27th Annual Conference on Transportation Innovation and Cost Savings in Toronto, Canada. According to attorney Brown, “I am grateful we were given the opportunity to help the Canadian railroad industry understand how the mistakes made by numerous members of the railroad industry caused this catastrophe that would never have happened if simple safety procedures would have been followed. Hopefully, the railroad industries throughout the world are following our case and will implement the safety protocols we know should have been in place on July 6. Our clients hired us to do everything possible to prevent this tragedy from ever happening again. We are doing everything in our power to accomplish that goal.”
